Dahlia (AKA, Dolly) (the Sea) is a very lucky cat. She was adrift in a sail boat off Cozmel, Mexico when a sharp eyed lookout spotted their flares at night. She and her human were rescued by the heroic crew of the Carnival Cruise Ship "Legend". The crew turned out a special welcome for her and she is doing well. BRAVO ZULU!
Sammy (BC, Canada) was very happy to get his breakfast a whole hour early this weekend. His humans are clearly confused, but he wasn't going to correct them. Little does he know this may never happen again.
Good news from the Black Cat Ranch. Miss Mercy (California, USA) is gaining weight, after increasing her prednisone! On the other hand, she has started waking her human up for food at 3am. She went and stood on her human's shoulder, put her face close to their ear and meowed repeatedly. She’s very little, but, despite her size, she subsequently got mad at Seamonster and started battling with him to force him off the bed. Then everybody jumped off the bed. No respect for the food giver.
Cat News has another announcement this week. The Cat News editor and the Cat News illustrator have been working on a web comic called 'The Monster Dating Show.' Episodes come out on webtoons every 10th, 20th and 30th. It is a story about a werewolf, a vampire and a witch joining a dating show, to try and give paranormal beings better representation.
It will also feature a talking cat.
You can find the link here, if that sounds like something you'd enjoy:

Lilli (Germany) was stuck in a traffic jam on the autobahn with her humans. She slept, and when she woke, they were still there! So she decided to go and watch the trucks passing in the opposite lanes. To do that, she climbed up and sat on her human's legs - sitting on their lap for the second time in 21 years!
Tiny (Glasgow, Scotland) has moved into a new home in Glasgow southside and has been a big brave boy looking out the window.
A tiny little tuxedo kitten, born prematurely, the only survivor of his litter, has warmed hearts in foster care, nursery, and the fediverse. Little Oliver (California, USA) took longer to grow and spent weeks in the kitten nursery recovering from a persistent URI. Despite it all, he is a bright and silly spirit and brought joy to all. Even better, accompanied by his stuffed seahorse toy, Oliver was adopted on his first full day available!

Happy New Year from Cat News! Cats don't make resolutions, but our plans are just to make sure we spend time with our CEO Cat Pippin and keep him engaged (for everyone's safety).
